Marty Fields’ experience as a writer is long and diverse encompassing books, articles, advertising copy and most recently, pilot episodes for television.

The best selling author of three comedy books, Marty’s most recent book, Takeaway Jokes, a collection of one-liners and short jokes, went into two reprints and enjoyed international success.

Marty has also written for several successful Radio comedy shows and has had a number of articles published. For five years, he contributed a weekly comedy page to the Australasian Post magazine and is regularly approached to make comedy contributions for other leading publications.

On a more serious note, Marty has written advertising copy for many companies including Video City and Crown Casino. He has recently completed an inspirational Thought for the Day calendar aimed at publication in 2003.

Marty has created a series of short film screenplays and is currently working on two projects for television – The All Sports Show (a fast paced sketch comedy sport based series) and Four Story Building (a quirky series focused on four separate domestic situations in a block of apartments).

As a composer, Marty has written radio jingles, musical scores for corporate events and contributed music and lyrics to the movie soundtracks of Death of A Soldier and The Banjo Man. He has composed over three hundred songs, the most requested being a tribute to his late father, Maurie Fields, entitled A Likeable Man.
