    AFL Football Functions

I've worked for all the major Football functions for all the Clubs over the years, but focussed on Richmond since about 1994. This culminated in 2000 with me doing an on-ground twenty minute segment before each home game. I'd run interviews, previews, competitions and video throws. A tricky gig, particularly when you hear your voice coming back at you 3 seconds after you've said something. I got used to it and managed to talk over myself, but whoever I interviewed would usually have trouble. I was on the big screen and my lips never matched the sound. An odd performance in every way, called "Tigerland with Marty Fields". One thing I was responsible for launching was the roar meter which is still used for Richmond home games although I've moved on to less confusing pastures on the other side of the fence.
